Thanks all, really happy to get the Mod 1 out of the way. Its an odd one as you'd think pootling around in a carpark would be easy, but nerves do play a huge part in this one. Hope that it helps anyone reading it. The test itself only lasts 10 minutes, if that!

I've got a 125 and have been driving around since May, so Im treating Module 2 as a runaround. The advice you've given there Runako is awesome, I will start immediately using that to try and get into those good habits.

Unsurprisingly, the 125 feels sooo slow! Hopefully I can get this passed without too many issues, then bike hunting over the winter. I did try haggling over the Street Triple in JT's. lol. Black with gold wheels *droool*

Hi All,

Just an update! I did my MOD2 on Friday!

Thanks to everyone on here for your help. I did my MOD 2 training all over the place, Briton Ferry, Jersey Marine, Llandarcy, Neath.... turns out it was all for nothing as my first instruction when leaving the test centre on Fabian Way was, ''follow sings for the city centre''... Balls!

The test went very quickly and there were a number of places I knew I messed up. It wasn't my best ride by a long shot, but I think nerves played a massive part. There was an area by Hafod where I'd never been before and after multiple stops and junctions in succession I realised I'd left my right indicator on. Pretty sure the examiner heard me swearing.. At this point I thought I'd failed.

On returning to the test centre I was told to go inside and wait, the Examiner was chatting to the people in the waiting room whilst I got more and more nervous waiting to be told the bad news. I asked for my instructor to be present.

He sat me down and he mentioned that my indicator had been left on for longer than it should have, which I agreed. He then went on to mention that if there had been another car around in any direction I would have become a serious fault and a fail. ..but luckily for me, there was not another car in sight, so was only classed as a minor!

I passed with one Minor!! So happy right now. I'm off on holiday on Thursday for a week, but when I get back its Bike shopping for a Street Triple!

Thanks again to everyone on here, you've been a great help. Hopefully will catch up with you all soon!!

Jon

Its been something I've wanted to do for years, but kept putting it off for various reasons.

Riding a bike just feels right, its far more involving than driving a car, being cut off from everything.

I cant wait just to get out there and ride for myself, rather than following directions. I'll be able to change my thinking from ''this way next'' to ''what's down that way?''

Looking forward to exploring and finding some decent roads.

Nice one well done. Nothing like it to get a pass. BTW there are other bikes available other than trumpets.
