Bad service
« on: October 13, 2017, 02:17:25 PM »
I would NOT recommend Bikesure.  VERY poor service. Now awaiting my documents for the 5th time. 4Previous copies were incorrect and the last one also included another persons travel insurance..... including their medical history !!! Last time I phoned I asked to speak with a supervisor/manager. They would not come to the phone to speak with me. Every point I made the operator had to put me on hold in order to check with the said supervisor.

If they’re that bad at providing insurance. Imagine what making a claim will do?

You should call then back and inform them that you will be informing the ICO of the data breach when they sent you someone else's confidential private information.

I have to admit that I've never had an issue with them, been with them for years, had to make a claim many years back when someone nicked my 125 and they paid out quickly enough. I also have them email the docs.

After many years of trying various insurers, I have this year gone with R&H......and i'm staggered at how cheap they are, with so many extras for free.

The downside for many of you will be that you need to have what they consider a classic bike insured with them before they will insure a more modern one, but if you can get hold of a cheap older machine to trigger them accepting you, the benefits might be well worth the price of the older bike.

I've got fully comp on a GS1000G, a Laverda Jota and a 1999 Yamaha R1, with agreed values (which are very high on the nut and bolt restored Jota), all at £138, although there is a 3000 mile annual limit on each one. I recently added by future son-in-law to the R1 cover and at 26 and with only 2 years full licence, it was a further £35.

I've never had to make a claim (thankfully) and therefore do not know how easy this would be to deal with through them, but so far so good and worth a look if you have the necessary older bike to kick it off.

Oh most definitely. How would you like some random person getting hold of personal details. In this day and age with identity theft so rife you would think that a firm like bikesure would have procedures in place too ensure stuff like this doesn't happen.

Breach of Data protection like this is pretty serious tbh.

Try here:

https://www.rhspecialistinsurance.co.uk/classic-motorcycle-insurance

You will need a bike that they consider 'Classic' to trigger their interest, but you will see what I have achieved in my post above on the subject. Surely worth a try if you do have the necessary 'Oldie' !
